Demo is mad because i cannot come up with a better outfit for her and also maybe because i didn’t plan the poses before drawing them

and have awkward hugsi looked up traditional scottish women’s clothes but none of it looked remotely appropriate for flinging around explosives. mayyyyybe if the shawl was reappropriated as headwear (to keep hair out of the way, assuming her design keeps the current hair length)? or maybe a big men’s belt with the buckle and all, and the front pouch gets moved to the side?
m trying to see how demodude’s default outfit is designed to his personality. the crotch-protector thing possibly being a reference to the sporran (????) but also in conjunction with the padded, neck-covering vest indicating a certain regard for safety that belies his reckless air. the smiley face, of course, is exactly suited to his exuberant brashness on the battlefield. i’m not sure how that would translate to demolady, because a prototypical man highlighting his sexual characteristics has a way different social significance than a prototypical woman highlighting hers. wouldn’t matter so much for scoots, since one of the things about scoots is their youthful sexual appetite and inflated perception of their own sexual and romantic desirability. demo’s smiley face is pure crude silliness. how to convey the same crude, silly defiance as a woman, as a person whose loudness and tooth-baring flamboyance coexists with ill-veiled tendencies toward insecurity and inarticulate melancholy?
